Dianna Agron Dyes Hair Pink?

Saturday, August 13, 2011
Glee actress Dianna Agron has recently joined the pink hair pandemic and colored her newly shortened “do,” following in the footsteps of pop star Katy Perry, who also recently dyed her locks a fuchsia tint.

Dianna, who plays a cheerleader named Quinn Fabray on the hit Fox musical series, was spotted on Thursday by PEOPLE magazine sporting the grungy new look as she got into her Audi in LA.

And while the 25-year-old star’s latest hair-hue look is definitely edgy, she  recently revealed in September’s Cosmopolitan that she wants to be "taken seriously".
Which look do you like better?!

LATEST OBSESSION?

Tuesday, August 09, 2011
If you saw the picture already, you probably guessed correctly. I have already posted something about this, but finally received them in the mail (and worn them a couple times!)...
YES! They are turban headbands! And since I have the tendency to either have dirty hair or I just get pretty lazy (or don't wanna kill my hair even more with straighteners), they really come in handy (and in pretty colors too!). I bought them on Etsy for about $10 each, and I am going to buy more in all the colors possible! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Mini Savers & Goodwill Haul!

Saturday, August 06, 2011
Okay, so for a while (and still today) I have been needing (yes, NOT wanting) some more clothing (ok ok, some wanting in there), and yesterday was my day off along with my boyfriend's, so we decided to go (since we couldn't decide where) to a Goodwill nearby (there's TONS of them here in AZ!) to see if we find some cool things. I found 2 fabulous purple & mint-colored blouses that, though they "look like something old people would wear" (said my bf), and cost $4 each. He found some things too, but its kind of harder for him to find things most of the time at thrift shops. Anyway, after that we hit up another Goodwill 5 minutes away and I found the perfect necklace to go with one of  my blouses (or both actually!). We couldn't think of where to go next, since we were just going to whatever place we came across  in the car, so he brought up Savers, which is a lot like Goodwill, but much nicer & more stuff. I found many amazing things there, but some did not end up convincing me so I left them. I get payed this Friday so honestly, I think I am going to go splurge some more there. After that, we went to another Savers store, and found nothing, so we drove to Nordstrom's Rack Last Chance (where Nordstrom stuff on clearance is reduced even MORE, so there were some big sales there, and I found a black tank I wanted, along with some Betsey Johnson red heart tights, and some boots. Overall, such a great day, and everything was for less than $50! YAY! :D

1ST 2 THINGS (TIGHTS= $0.97, TANK=$1.50, & SHOES=$9.50): NORDSTROM'S LAST CHANCE

NEXT 3 ITEMS ARE FROM SAVERS, ALL UNDER $12
LAST 3 ITEMS ARE FROM GOODWILL; $12 TOTAL

Get out there, you never know what you can find unless you look! :)

The Row Launches New Handbag Collection

Friday, August 05, 2011

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have come a long way in the fashion industry since their days designing a pre-teen clothing line for Wal-Mart (wow remember that?!). In 2007, the famous twins launched The Row, a luxury apparel and accessories brand. Since the brand's beginning, it has included everything from leather leggings, and evening dresses to outwear, so of course the next step for them would be to now include handbags.

The Olsen's launched The Row’s first handbag collection at Barneys New York this July. The sleek and sophisticated collection fits perfectly within the brand’s “classic and ultra-refined” philosophy.

The sisters have been known to track down the most finest of materials to create clothing and accessories that can accommodate their  “contemporary luxury” line. With handbags made of ostrich and python there is no doubt that the Olsen's intend for this collection of handbags to be a fashion investment that will succeed even the most "trendy" trends. At $39,000, (no, you did not just imagine that number) The Row unveiled its most expensive investment piece at the Barneys launch party—a backpack constructed of alligator skin.

The insanely priced backpack has no doubt garnered the most coverage, leaving all of us wondering just how much one can be expected to spend to own a first edition The Row handbag. There is still mystery surrounding the exact price points of the bags as curious shoppers are directed to call the nearest Barneys, but the brand has confirmed that several of the smaller bags range between $4,700-$5,500.

Barneys allowed the sisters to interview one another for their blog The Window; here is just a bit of what they chatted about:

Mary-Kate Olsen: What is your favorite piece of clothing you’ve designed for The Row?
Ashley Olsen: I would have to say our first t-shirt. We have evolved so much since that first tee, but every collection is based on the same standards—luxurious fabrics, impeccable fit, and the highest level of quality.

Ashley: What are your favorite materials and textiles to work with?
Mary-Kate: I love furs and skins because the textures are so compelling. We push ourselves and our team to consider new ideas and techniques for incorporating them.

Don't forget the collection hits stores and online August 31 and prices range from $50 to $170.
Here are just some of my favorites & view the complete collection here.

The September Issues Keep Coming In!

Check out these issues for the month of September! I am SO excited to go grab these ASAP!
Following her Vogue cover this month, Sarah Jessica Parker will grace the cover of September's Marie Claire. As for Harper's Bazaar, they've snagged themselves Fashion's Night Out spokesperson Lea Michele, while the September cover of British Harper's Bazaar features Beyonce and Chinese Vogue features an all Asian cast of top models: Du Juan, Sui He, Fei Fei Sun, Liu Wen, Ming Xi, and Shu Pei.

The September cover of Teen Vogue has hot actress, Emma Stone and insanely beautiful Anne Hathaway graces Marie Claire UK’s September 2011 issue. Jessica Alba, in Marc Jacobs, lands the Lucky September cover. The even bigger news? The September issue of Vanity Fair will feature Jennifer Lopez and not Lindsay Lohan has it has been previously reported.

In The Mood for Something Girly & Elegant-Smellling?

Wednesday, August 03, 2011
Try one of my all-time Juicy Couture For Women perfumes, which I received as a gift from my boyfriend some months ago (this is why the perfume looks kinda empty!). It includes eau de parfum spray (3.4 oz.), royal body creme (6.7 oz.) and a solid perfume compact (0.13 oz.), all for around $100. There are places where you can find them cheaper (think Nordstrom's Rack & Marshalls) so don't break your budget if you don't have to!

FAVORITE LIPSTICKS OF ALL TIME!

I have never really been a lipstick person, and still am not, but once I hit the store and saw these colors, not only did I grab them right away, but they were also on sale! I especially almost screamed when I saw the brightest pink shade I had ever seen because I just could never find the right one! Here are some pictures to show you the shades (sorry for the lighting!), and the order in which they stand, their name, and shade on my arm are the same from left to right!

shades (from l to r): Blushing Brunette, Autumn Rush, Warm & Cozy, Warm Me Up, Fuschia Fever, Fifth Ave. Fuschia (MY FAVE!), & Red Revival

These are all Maybelline ColorSensational, available at drugstores & other places!

Lea Michele for Harpers Bazaar, September 2011

Word on the street is that fashionistas all over (all over "The Fashion Spot" that is!) are having a hard time with Glee's front woman, Lea Michele, being on the cover of one of the biggest issues for one of the most famous magazines in the world. Why? Is it that she isn't "famous" enough? Or maybe "fashionable" enough? True, she is known for her talented acting & graceful singing skills, but the girl is gorgeous as well, and plus, don't we always see the same women on magazine covers anyway? Like I always say, give someone new a chance! Bravo Lea! I think you truly deserve it!
Read more about Lea's interview here!

McQueen's Exhibition Proves He is Still in Style

Tuesday, August 02, 2011
The late Alexander McQueen's latest fashion display, "Savage Beauty", which is being held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is one of the most popular that the museum has ever held, attracting over half a million visitors since it's opening in May. It has now been extended for 1 more week, closing down on Sunday at midnight. The accompanying catalogue, written by Andrew Bolton, the curator of the museum's Costume Institute, has sold almost 100,000 copies through the museum. Those who have been unable to attend, meanwhile, have "upped" the programme to the top of Amazon's search chart for art books.

The chance to witness at close quarters the technical and creative genius of McQueen, who committed suicide in February 2010, has drawn his fans and followers of fashion but it is thought renewed global interest in his legacy, represented now by his successor, Sarah Burton, has brought popular appeal.
She designed the gown for Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William in April, and has dressed the her for a variety of public appearances since.

"Savage Beauty" beats the record previously held by the Met's 2008 clothing exhibition "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy".
