DRESS | For Love and Lemons
BOOTS | Steve Madden

It is literally CHRISTMAS DAY, I am in Calexico, and I am at the only place that is open right now- Starbucks. Yes, here I am, drinking on a Caramel Macchiato (extra hot, thank you), which actually is currently pissing me off because I feel like all of their hot coffees taste the SAME! The worst part? I spent almost $11 between my drink and another! But whatevs. Any who, here is the final look in the holiday series, where I bring you an unconventional NYE look, and I say "unconventional" because if you remember from my first look, I had a bit of a harder time trying to place each of these outfits with certain occasions, this dress being one of them. I figured though, that New Year's is a day where us gals usually try to find the dress with the most sequins or the one that fits the tightest, but I think this ensemble is one that is more daring because it is completely see-through, well with the exception that the dress actually comes with a slip, but you know me, I put a slight twist to it and made it my own. So bring on 2016 with new goals, new motivation, new inspiration, a NEW LOOK, and truly live life (blah blah) to the fullest because I have realized that the older I get, the more life seems way shorter to me (this year will bring on my 10-year high school reunion and I AM IN DENIAL. Full on denial). Set bigger goals for each other than ever before. You might be surprised where they may take you.
Thank you guys for another year of supporting everything I do, on here and Insta. Your comments and thoughts truly get me through some trying times! Peace and love, babes!

WHAT TO WEAR WHERE: EVENTS AROUND TOWN

Sunday, December 20, 2015

I WAS WEARING:

This is a more casual look, different from the rest because we know that you are certainly not at a party literally every single day during the holidays, so this is more for running last minute errands or even going to watch some light shows around town. I chose to wear it with these distressed jeans from Topshop that you have seen millions of times, but since the last time I showed them here, I have DIY'd them (hint: I cut off the bottoms). I also needed a good belt since I had not bought one in a while, and this one from Calvin Klein totally did the trick, along with a turtleneck top I only purchased because of its color. The cardigan pulled it together just perfectly I think, and I could not be more satisfied with the look. What do you think?

WHAT TO WEAR WHERE: PARTY WITH FRIENDS

I WAS WEARING:

To say that I dread the holidays would be an understatement; I absolutely detest them. Aside from personal reasons, I think what made me dislike them the most is all of that horrible music played in every mall in the United States of America right around Thanksgiving. But enough of me being such a Grinch, and let me paint a better picture for you: it is the end of the year, and the one night of the year where all of your old friends get together for a fun time involving a large dinner and gift exchanges. You can wear this little number with tights and even a tight turtleneck top for a look that is both versatile yet super classy. That should be more than enough to win "Best Dressed" of the night.

WHAT I WAS WEARING:
SHOES | *Courtesy of Missguided

I'M BACK. After a whole week of "recovering" from my work trip, I am finally ready to get the holiday season started, presenting you with this first look in the "What to Wear Where" series: what to wear to you family party. Can't you wait? Your weird, crazy relatives who come into town and take over your bed, the grandparents who sneakily give you cash without your parents watching, the smell of that dying Christmas tree, and the disappointment of not getting anything you asked for? Haha! I'm totally kidding, even though you secretly agree with me.
Now, let me inform you that this is the first of four outfits, and it was a bit challenging trying to place this one with the right occasion, but if you pair it with a little shag coat, or even change up your hair into a high bun while adding a gold headpiece of your choice, you can make it into a look all your own (without a doubt, the best way to go) and a little more "appropriate", just in case you feel like your aunt is giving you that crazy eye because of all of those sheer panels. Regardless of what you're up to this end of year, make sure you do it while you get some heads turnin'.
