The heat wave in Southern California has gotten intense; a bit too intense for my liking (continuing my warm weather rant from last post...). When Nasty Gal reached out and offered me to choose between a few dresses to show off on my blog, at first I couldn't decide which I loved most; do I go for the long sleeve black and hot pink number or the high neck skater dress? Clearly, I think you can tell which one blew my mind. Yup, this floral dress had that extra kick every gal needs for days at the beach and nights at the nearest burger joint with friends. You know I'm a platforms girl all the way, but with a piece like this, I think I'd take it up a notch and style it with a black moto jacket and some mules! Or grab a thrifted denim jacket (like mine) and pair it with some white flatforms (and a nude lip!) for that effortless girly look! I love that it is very lightweight and you don't have to wear a bra with it (always a winner in my book)!

There's nothing better than being in the high 90s in the middle of March. I am not one to be utterly in love with the idea of a hot day (try living in Arizona for 3.5 years!), but I love that I can walk out of the house in the morning with a light jacket and have it off by noon. This weekend has been crazy (what's new?), with everything from road trips to early morning shoots with new people. I like being busy, but there comes a point where my body just wants to give in. Like they say, I'll sleep when I'm dead. 

As for the outfit, I bought this Forever 21 duster coat and decided to pair it with some really casual pieces, not only because of the changes in season, but because if I paired it with jeans or anything to cover me up even more, I would look overwhelmed. Just when I couldn't figure out what top to wear with the shorts, I thought back to Hawaii and my favorite Nasty Gal swimsuit. Served it's purpose, right?
