Whenever you're in a situation where you think you don't have very many options, you may want to think again. In this case, I am talking about finding this gem of a place for a quick photo session almost in the middle of nowhere. Though I am no stranger to doing things out of the ordinary, this place is very familiar to most. I am literally standing against the border that divides the small town of Calexico and it's neighboring city, the Mexican border town of Mexicali. Crazy to think how one large metal fence is what separates us from such a different culture, and a shock that it doesn't really stop anyone from trying to cross it in order to chase their American dream. What an insane kind of world we live in, right? Regardless, I thought this monument in a sense, was a cool place to accentuate the bubbly outfit I had on, and I am very happy with the results! What do you think?

Cuando estés en una situación en la que pienses que no tienes varias opciones, piensalo de nuevo. En este caso, estoy hablando de haber encontrado este lugarsito inesperado para una sesión de fotos rapida. Aunque no sea extraña a hacer cosas fuera de lo ordinario, este lugar es algo muy familiar para mucha gente. Estoy literalmente parado al lado de la linea frontera que divide Calexico y Mexicali. Es algo loco pensar que algo tan simple como un cerco de metal pueda separar culturas diferentes, y a la misma vez no podernos sorprender el hecho de que eso nunca a parado a la gente cuando se cruzan ilegalmente para poder vivir una vida con mas oportunidades. Que mundo tan loco, no? Aunque sea, este monumento se me hizo un lugar super cool para acentuar el conjunto que traía puesto, y estoy feliz con los resultados! Que piensan ustedes?

I had the grand opportunity to meet the social media coordinator for Lush Clothing during my trip to MAGIC in February (she came up to me because she had recognized me from tagging their clothing on my Instagram so much, ha!), and we clicked right away. They were very graceful in contacting me recently asking me if I'd like to work with them, and obviously I couldn't turn that down! I chose a few pieces, including this two piece set (something I am always attracted to), and you can probably guess why. The lightweight fabric makes it easier to cope with this Arizona heat, and the daisies are always a pretty print.

Tuve el gran placer de conocer la nena que se hace cargo de todo lo que tiene que ver con social media de Lush Clothing en mi viaje a MAGIC en Febrero (me reconoció porque siempre los menciono en mi Instagram!), y nos hicimos amigas muy rapido. Recientemente me contacto para ver si estaba interesada en trabajar juntas, y claro le dije que si. Me dieron a escoger algunas piezas que me gustaran, y obviamente escogí este set de flores! La tela es muy ligera para el calor, y las florecitas siempre son un patrón bonito.

Being the girl that I am (duh), I feel that I can never have too many shoes. Some of my favorite pairs have always been from Nasty Gal, and despite the price, they are the splurges of a lifetime. They are fun, quirky, have a variety of brands on their site including their very own Nasty Gal Collection Shoe Cult brand, Jeffrey Campbell, and UNIF. And what kind of post would this be if I did not include platforms?! Whether you use them to give you a boost of height (like me) or just think they're pretty to look at, have your pick! PERF!
