POWDER PINK

I WAS WEARING:
COAT | Minkpink
SWEATER | ASTR
SKIRT | Topshop

It is rare that I turn any fluffy or shaggy jacket down, and this one from Minkpink was definitely no exception. I was going to originally pair this with some faux leather leggings, and though I can see that outfit being a possibility, I liked it better with this lace skirt. I've also really been into stripes lately, so the sweater was an added bonus. Now you're ready to throw your hair down and take on the night (or day)! Can the weather cool down and be somewhere around 60 degrees like San Diego was meant to be so I can wear it more often?
I can't believe that it is October once again starting tomorrow; the end of the year is always one which puts a lot of pressure for me somehow. Maybe it's probably because of the holidays, birthdays, and trying to figure out which family we have to visit on what day. I am going to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with Alex, and we are thinking that we might take a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and maybe Flagstaff (if it's snowing!) for the occasion. The whole time we've been living there, we never got to go to the famous scenic place, and it actually sounds like the perfect plan.
Do you already know what you're doing this holiday season?

THE VEST

I WAS WEARING:
COMPLETE OUTFIT | Topshop

It's hard not to feel a little bit like I just stepped off the set of 'The Matrix', but it was time for a different direction in terms of my vision for the outfit. Being on the shorter side, I am used to not wearing longer pieces of clothing- they simply don't look good on me. Lately though, I have been keeping an eye out for a great long vest- it's almost as if my life would instantly get better once I had one. And it kind of did when I wore it, I felt that it really brought the outfit together. Being that this specific get-up required me to wear a bustier/bandeau top, I liked that the vest made everything look like a classy ensemble, and it also made me feel that much more comfortable wearing a top like this, since it is almost non-existent (ha!).
It's a brand new week and I really hope that it goes by fast once again; I can't stand being away from my best friend five days in a row at a time!
Happy Monday, babes!

DESOLATE

I WAS WEARING:
DRESS | For Love and Lemons Antigua Mini Dress

I have only just realized that my blog is over a year old already and it seems like it was just yesterday I started this thing (when it was really in 2011). I hope to continue to do this for years to come and hopefully make it more than it currently is in the future.
On to the outfit: if you follow me on Instagram, you have seen that I already wore this dress from For Love and Lemons  on our last night in Hawaii almost three weeks ago. I was terribly worried that the x-small wouldn't fit, but I guess that feeling should've only came to me after dinner. Let's just say I couldn't have dessert and almost had to sit in the car all the way to Waikiki, a la Kendall Jenner in her Topshop dress. Worth every second though.
What would you guys like to see more on here? I love when I get feedback so I know at least one soul out there is taking their time to read this blog.
Thanks for reading, babes.

WEEKEND WEAR

Saturday, September 20, 2014

Photos by Alex Salcedo
I WAS WEARING:
TOP | Asos
JACKET | Nasty Gal Collection (old)
JEANS | 7 For All Mankind
HEELS | GoJane.com (old)

It's the weekend, and what better way to welcome it than with a 70s-inspired shag jacket? It might still be in the high 80s, but for the full four hours that it rained yesterday, this could've been a good idea.
What are you up to this weekend?

LONELY TOWN

I WAS WEARING:
CROP TOP | Forever 21
DENIM BUTTON-UP | Forever 21 (old)
SKIRT | Volcom (old)
HEELS | Brian Atwood (old)
CLUTCH | Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC

This week has flown by, and I couldn't have been more ecstatic. It's time for the weekend, and along with that is time with Alex, friends, and a bunch of murderous episodes on Investigation Discovery (I'm probably the biggest ID fan you'll ever meet). Oh, and I also can't wait to see Zoey, though she may annoy me, she is pretty hilarious and I know I can't help but enjoy all the crazy things she does.
In another note, for this post I finally got to document an outfit I've been waiting to try out: a button-up over a long skirt. Ever since I bought this slit skirt from Volcom, I only wore it once and decided it was too long to keep wearing, so my mother-in-law actually helped fix it for me, and I love it even more. It is seriously the definition of perfection with this weather, especially since it's so lightweight and the slits end pretty high above on my legs.
Would you ever try this combination?

A LITTLE BIT MOD

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Photos by Alex Salcedo
I WAS WEARING:
TOP | Brandy Melville (Tuanne)
SKORT | Bethany Mota Collection at Aeropostale

I feel as if the week is going by extremely slow this time around, with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees in some parts of San Diego. The only thing even coming close to being related to fall is the Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. Don't get me wrong, I like crop tops and cut-out dresses just like the next girl, but I've had it.
How's the weather where you're at? Hope it's a much more pleasant experience than it is in Souther California at the moment. xx
