Can you believe that 2013 has come to a close? So many crazy things happened this year (graduated college, started my career in the fashion industry, traveled to places I've never been before, among many other things), and I can't wait to see what next year brings. It seems as though I might finally be closer to starting my own family (gasp!), and it will be one year less that we live in Arizona. Life is too good.

Monday, December 30, 2013Outfit of the Day, Teen Vogue, teenvogue, winter
This past week was a hectic one; I worked on Monday, and on Tuesday we flew out to San Diego for Christmas, and flew back the next day. This was the outfit I wore on Christmas Day, and for our flight back. Without knowing, I wore all black, and surprisingly, I liked it. I worked Thursday and Friday, and afterward, drove back to California to celebrate my husband's birthday. I can't believe it's already almost 2014- sounds strange even saying that! Make it a good one beauties!

Thursday, December 26, 2013Forever 21, Outfit of the Day, Teen Vogue, teenvogue, winter
I hope you had a very happy holiday this week! Here is a quick post from last weekend, where I combined denim with stripes, and a pop of color! Surprisingly, it is a look I've never tried before, but I ended up loving. What do you think of it?

Sequins are one those things that brighten up any room (literally & metaphorically), and during the holidays they can certainly be very forgiving when wanting to wear them on the daily. As you can obviously tell, I am extremely pale (I sort of really love that about me), and most colors look great against my skin tone. This combination of sequins on this $10 H&M dress had me paying for the dress before even knowing if it would truly fit me, but it fit like a glove, and I can't wait until it makes another appearance this season.
The clutch was sent to me by the lovely people at Winky Designs (see their super cute stuff here), and besides the fact that it completely matched my outfit, it fits everything plus more! The store also offers fashion watches, bracelets, and other sequin clutches in a variety of colors. Right now they are offering FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING until the end of the year, as well as 25% off their Oh So Clutch! Collection!
As a special treat to my followers, if you shop anytime between now until midnight on January 1st,you can also use the code PLATFORMSFORBREAKFAST13 to give you an additional 10% off an item of your choice!
What are you waiting for? Get on it!

I am not the greatest fan of midi skirts (they are skirts that fall right below your knees, but above your ankles), because being the petite girl that I am, it's not the most flattering look. This skirt was found at Goodwill, and the color is the first thing I fell for. It was perfect for the fall season- such a steal! This ivory knit and the studded heels were the perfect complement to my already gorgeous skirt and sealed the deal beautifully.

With Christmas less than a week away, if you're like me, you're probably still procrastinating and have no idea what you'll be wearing that day. Believe it or not, it's almost the end of December and I feel like there has been absolutely NO winter season in Arizona; or much of the west coast for that matter. That's why I chose this romper; it is perfect for parties where it may not be as cold because the shorts complement the long sleeves. The fact that it's lined also provides a little bit more warmth to the body.

Wednesday, December 18, 2013fall, Forever 21, holidays, Outfit of the Day, Teen Vogue, teenvogue
Do you ever have those times where you are going out right after work with no time to stop to change at home? This happens a lot during the holidays, with so many office parties, or even if you're the date to someone else's work party. One of the biggest favors you can do yourself (no matter where you work) is to prepare a complete outfit you can wear to work and transition into a nighttime one without the hassle of taking an extra duffle bag to do so. If you don't necessarily work in a complete business setting, you can take a button-up blouse and basic blazer to wear during your day, and then switch out your bottoms into a cute skirt and pumps afterward. You can also spice up your hair and makeup by creating a messy bun with a few stray hairs around the front frame of your face and adding a colorful lipstick to complete your look! Grab your favorite clutch and you're set! You'll have everyone talking even after the party is over.

For the holidays, I have decided to put together a few outfits that would differently fit any type of affair you'll be invited to this season. This Asos dress has been one of my favorites ever since I spotted it in-between dress racks at Goodwill. Yes. This is thrifted. And it is beyond amazing! It has a bit of a strange fit (looser on the top, while it is very fitted under the waist), but it's because it's so different that I am in love with it. This is the type of outfit I would wear to a more formal event, such as a company party, a family get-together at my in-laws, or a great dinner out with friends.

Sunday, December 08, 2013fall, Forever 21, Outfit of the Day, San Francisco, Teen Vogue, teenvogue
Here is the outfit that I wore on the last day of our weekend in San Francisco. I am in love with this chunky sweater from Forever 21 (I've worn it quite a bit since buying it a few weeks ago!), and the chilly weather was perfect enough to pair it with my teal tights. It's pretty simple, but it was also very comfortable- which was important when exploring a new city!
